A endoscope is a long narrow flexible camera that allows visualisation of structures inaccessable otherwise. It is most commonly used in horses for diagnosis of upper respiratory problems, nasal discharges etc but can also be used in the diagnosis of problems of the reproducitve and urinary tract. At Warren house Veterinary Centre our video-endoscope is portable and allows us to diagnose many problems on the owners yard. Video-endoscopy displays the image on a TV monitor or laptop thus allowing both the veterinary surgeon and the horses owner to easily see any problem discovered and its extent.
